The facts on potato chips, deep fried beer, man balances kayak on chin & the Daily Page

  • Print

THE FACT IS...
Potato chips were invented in Saratoga Springs, New York in 1853 by chef George Crum. He made them as a joke for a patron who had complained that his French fries were too thick.

Just when you thought they'd found a way to deep-fry everything, a chef in Texas has developed the world's first recipe for deep-fried beer! The beer is placed inside what looks like a ravioli and then fried for 20 seconds so it still retains its alcoholic potency. "It tastes like you took a bite of hot pretzel dough and then took a drink of beer," chef Mark Zable said.

Chin up! Check out New Jersey resident Jimmy Steinhagen as he balances a 60-pound kayak on his face! He also balances other things too, like ladders and umbrellas.
