Robert H. Keaton patented his first Keaton Music Typewriter in 1936. The original model featured 14 keys, but, in the 1950s, Keaton expanded the machine to include 33 keys. Composers did not care much for the device, preferring to write by hand, but it did enjoy some popularity amongst publishers, educators, and other musicians. Full story at This is Colossal.
