But wait there's more, what if you just kept ice cubes under your furniture?

Love these handy household tip sites, but sometimes what's even better are the customer comments.  HERE'S THE BACK STORY -

Carpet dents caused by heavy furniture can really be unattractive. They can also be very stubborn and last a long time. Luckily, LifeHacker shared a YouTube video on how to easily erase these divots in just minutes.

First, take an ice cube and place it over the spot. Then, wait until it melts and the dent should be gone. You can also "fluff" the area with a fork or toothbrush to allow the fibers to expand if necessary. Finally, pat with a cloth and your carpet or rug will be as good as new. This trick is really easy and will make a huge difference when you're rearranging a room or getting rid of some unnecessary furniture. Head over to LifeHacker for more information, and click through our slideshow for other great tips and tricks.

THEN ON LIFE HACKER YOU GET THESE KIND OF COMMENTS.

"If you put the furniture back on the spot, it's just going to make another divot."

I love the fact that this had to be said.

I know, I thought it was going to make the furniture defy gravity, or make the carpet fibers thousands of times stronger.

Oh! That gives me such a great idea! I can PREVENT the divots by putting all my furniture on ice cubes! That way the carpet stays nice and fluffy, and the furniture never touches the carpet to make the divot to begin with!

There's no way this can fail!
