Heavy rain is falling this morning as a cold front sweeps through, but it is the wind that is really our big weather headline for Thursday. Wind speeds will reach dangerously high levels behind this morning's front, prompting a High Wind Warning through midnight tonight for the Treasure Valley, Magic Valley and much of eastern Oregon.
Sustained winds today, especially east of Boise, will be 30-40mph, with gusts upwards of 55mph possible through tonight. It'll be chilly too, as temperatures will stall out behind the front, meaning the Treasure Valley will spend the entire day in the low to mid 40s.
Friday will be a much different weather story, as conditions will be mostly sunny and quite a bit warmer, though it will remain very windy tomorrow.
We kick off April on Saturday with lighter wind, sunshine and temps up near 60°. It is possible that light showers could return on Sunday.
